The Atelier's Arithmetic

Rajputi poshak price calculator

Shops quote in riddles; we'd rather show the arithmetic. Choose the work, the coverage, the kali and the cloth — the same four things that set the price on our own cutting table — and get an honest range for genuine handwork.

01 · The work
02 · How much of the cloth it covers
03 · Ghaghra fullness
04 · Base cloth
Honest estimate — genuine handwork
₹41,000₹60,000
Made to order in about 38 days, numbered and signed. If a shop quotes far below this for “handwork”, it is machine embroidery.

Estimates cover the full four-piece poshak — kanchli, kurti, ghaghra, odhna. For the reasoning behind every number, read the poshak price guide or the bari poshak guide.

Fair questions

How accurate is this poshak price estimate?

The calculator uses the same arithmetic our atelier prices with — base rate by work type, coverage of the cloth, kali count and base fabric. It returns a genuine-handwork range, not a quote; the exact price depends on the design, and we confirm it before any work begins.

Why is the estimate higher than poshaks I see online for ₹5,000?

Because those are machine-embroidered pieces on synthetic satin — fine for daily wear, but not handwork. Hand embroidery alone takes weeks on a stretched adda, so it cannot exist at that price. Check the reverse of the cloth: machine work shows uniform thread lines, handwork shows knots and human rhythm.

Does the estimate include the odhna and all four pieces?

Yes — the range covers the full four-piece poshak: kanchli, kurti, ghaghra and odhna, worked as one matched set, made to order in about 38 days, numbered and signed.
